I wanna start producing..

Okay, so i'm a total freaking n00b in FL Studio, Cubase, I don't even what is a VST, ANYWAY, I wanna produce, I think I have lot of idea that I wanna realize now.

So, since they're multiples professional italo producers here, Guyz I need your help ! Laughing out loud

Well, here's what I have : A PC using Windows Vista (Angry) (and i'll be soon get back to Windows Silly).
A probably shitty sound card, a nice Graphic card, and 4gb of RAM.

Anyway I guess that doesn't matter.. So here are my question.

- Is it possible to make a powerfull synth sound (like FeM or Italian Rockaz) Guess tey're using a Virus TI Laughing out loud. If not, what's the best software to use for making a great one.

- How to make Powerfull Tuba-Bass (maybe i'll need your help on this one Simps0n Smile

- What softwares are you using, you pro guys?

- is some of you has some websites with tutorials to learn some stuff? Laughing out loud

Last one : do you think tha in 2month I can manage to make a song? Laughing out loud

Aah anyway, thanks for reading and helping me !

Hi Lucky 65,

- Windows Silly is ok.
- You don't need a very good sound card to produce songs.
- Good if you have a nice graphic card.
- 4GB of ram should be enough.

- Yes, it is possible to make decent sounds with a PC.
- Even if the sound was produced in a different software, most pro music production softwares can support plug-ins which can help you produce the same or close sounds.

- There are tones of powerful presets on the net which are available for free that can produce Tuba-Bass sounds. If your question is asking about how to make a uniquely individual one, you can just play around with the sound to make it sound like how you want them to sound.

- I'm not a "pro guy", I'm a bedroom producer. I'm using SONAR 7, and plug-in with REASON 4.

- There are tones of Tutorials on youtube which can guide you step by step.

- You can make a song in hours, but the question is the standard and quality you are aiming for. If for professional standards, one should firstly understand the basic theories about music, and how to function the studio software you want to use. If you have those, I'm sure you can finish a song in less than a day.

Hope it helps. Smile

Ok Lucky65.
Before all, you need an ASIO4ALL driver for remove the latency of cheap soundcards.
http://www.asio4all.com/ It's free.
Then you'll need a Virtual Studio. At my advice FL Studio it's the best for beginners, since he has a nice interface and a bunch of good internal instruments and effects.
Download the demo of FL here: http://www.fruityloops.com/
After that, you may need of some good Dance drum samples. Check out http://www.vipzone-samples.com/ for obtain some free samples, or buy Vengeance Essential Clubsounds that are the best Dance samples, used in almost all the projects.

This is a matter of religion. You have Cubase, FL Studio, Reason and logic as the big progs. My story whit music production is i started out in FL Studio. Even il Mio Amore was produced in FL Studio. I think FL is a good, "easy" and fast program and that is really good to begin whit. After a while i moved over to Cubase and for me that is the best and right program. The sound engine in Cubase is a lot stronger, you can have a lot more vst running at once. I personally think the mixer in Cubase is the best. You have a lot more tweak option in Cubase in my opion.
About vst all italian rockaz sounds are made whit vst's like "vanguard mostly for bass, V-station, Discovery, sythle 1, ect"..
Vista and FL is okay they can run whit out problems. But some vst's only runs on Silly.
Cubase has many problems whit vista.
If you wanner make it big you have to get a good sound card whit some good monitors. But to take il Mio Amore as an ex again. it was made in FL whit a build in crappy sound card and on computer speakers.
Yeah you can make a song in 2 month but it sound like s***.. It's take a looooonnnnng time to learn the programs to learn how to sound mix, build up and song ect ect.. But you have to start some where..

hi Lucky65

Excellent idea. And I very much hope, that you will not throw it in 2-3 months. In fact you need a knowledge of some theory of music to make it. And you should know a basis of the basic function of the program in which you plan to make music. I shall upload out examples TUBA-BASS once again! GoooooooD LUCK!

You need vanguard vsti plugins for it.

mmmm.... maybe get some free tracker like Reaper?? :DD its easy as shit..
or download demo version of FL check mixer, vsti's and other things, then purchase(if u have money) full one.. i think good samples for drums and fxes are VEC 1 and VEC 2 (vengeance essential club). good synth for bass is vanguard with simps0n tuba presets..
for leads....mhhhmm.. nexus or v-station.. for mastering i think nice plugins are from Waves.....

Better to use a bass you have made yourself instead of using simps0n's or some premade thingy.. unless you don't want your own style of course Wink

Well simps0n uses vanguard. I'm sure I will have to get that. I will get club sounds 1 and 2. 2 is hard to find on CD. I can however get vol. 1 easily.
