What happened to DJ Gio? His remix has lost all former power Sad

The others sound very decent from the previews though Smile

isn't Gio's pretty 2000ish? pop/dance like early Paps'n'Skar...

I prefer Original! ...but all versions are great

If that's the case, he failed.
His style in 2007 was much more interesting Wink
Maybe CYT or Gio himself can explain what he's trying to do.

I see more sense to create a new "aka" name, to work with other music style.
In this way each name has a definite style, with its characteristic elements.
(All this assuming that he's trying to change his style)

This preview is short to comment on the song, but I can see that it lacks the typical strength of his songs.
The bpms are lower now, and the bass is softer.

When i see a Dj Gio remix, I imagine a 100% italodance song, with the tipical italo-elements and other that characterize him, like bells, the piano and strings parts ....
This doesn't mean that this, and his new remixes are supposed to be bad, but you can disappoint if you wait for something in his songs that will not appear.

Apart from this, I love the original version(my favourite), and the two remixes are very good looking, but for now I prefer the sTore remix.

interesting discussion with regard to Gio Mixes...

here some input from my side...

In my opinion Gio is very flexible as remixer and producer.
He can produce all kind of italodance styles...from power dance around 140bpm to revival 2000 orientated style around 130bpm to lento orientated stuff...

I would not limit him to 1 typical style cause all of his styles are italodance and insiders know that Gio is also involved in other italo projects working with different variations of italodance.
Furthermore I do not think it's necessary to go with an alias name when you try some style variations within the same main style. It would be another thing when you would do house with an artist name associated with italodance...that would be disappointing for me.

On DJ Gio EP release you'll find a lot of Gio Power Dance Mixes but also the one or other DJ Gio Revival Mix (Sunrise Electro) and also slower lento orientated tracks such as "Fabrizia" or his mix of "Where have you gone".

This time he created a mix in typical italodance style around 2000.
I would compare it a bit with Eiffel 65 Remix style of 883 or Piero Pelu (all around 130 bpm).
In contrast to the other mixes on this DJ Torny release Gio's one is of course slower.
That may be a reason why some people miss a bit of power when the other mixes are 10bpm +.
When the full release would only include mixes around 130bpm am pretty sure that the listening impression would be different.

What I see in this thread are more power italodance fans than 2000 revival fans. It's just a question of personal taste. Anyway I'm also sure that there are 2000 style fans out there which will be happy about a revival style mix in pretty authentic quality which is rare nowadays. That's the main reason for me to include this revival mix on the release cause I think it fits for this track and gives the package a bit more variety instead of going with 3 italo power dance mixes Smile

Well we are actually a lot of 2000-style fans in here, but when we talk about the 2000-style, we mean artists like:
Eiffel 65, Pooper Scooper, Bamble B, Lady Violet, Mabel and so on.
I actually think the Gio mix is even more pop-ish than most of those, not that a bad thing necessarily.

And yes variation is always good, can't argue against that, but it was just a little below my expectations, good for easy listening though.
