Interview with DAGMA - 22. April 2010

Real name?
Pierpaolo Delogu aka Dagma

Age?
i'm 29, i was born on 8 october 1980

When and why did you begin to produce music?
I started as a child at the age of 12 to listen dance music then moved to mixing with the vinyl of my older brother. I spent three hours a day to mix, but over time the desire to mix dance and play the songs with the keyboard was not enough. I tried something more and so I started producing in 1998 with a friend.

What music styles are you listening to other than what you produce?
Mainly dance, but mostly soundtracks and classical music. The orchestra has always been my passion. I love this music because it has an epic medieval charm of mystery and particular sound. Having grown up with the dance 90 I was very influenced mainly as musically sound. I try however to maintain my own identity and style that I identify. I do not follow fashions or what might go on the dancefloor .. but what would be really emotional.

Who is/are you favorite artist(s)?
I listen to everything but blood flowing for dance sound. Mainly dance artists like Eiffel65 and Gabry Ponte and Danijay, also because they are the ones I have "formed" musically, but also many other artists as Da Blitz, Bamble B, Gigi D'Agostino and DJ Ross. I love Rondo Veneziano, Highland, even though listening to almost anything.

What do you think is the future for Italo Dance music?
I am one of those who still think in the same way ... Despite italodance be "disappeared" from the club because superseded by electro and house I think it's a genre never died, some people like me continues to make people dream. Although it is against what counts is to do it with passion and spirit of fun. I truly hope that one day this kind will again have a rightful place as a time ... Meanwhile, what I say is that I continue on this path as an artist because it's my way to convey emotions to others ... people want to dance and have fun... W dance music!

What do you like to do on your spare time?
In my spare time I produce music as always, around the house with my mp3 player in my ears for complete isolation from the rest and stay more in touch with music. I love hanging out with friends and going to the cinema.

What are your plans for the future? style, project etc.
I do not make plans for the future but for now I would to release my personal tracks, the biggest dream is to make an album Smile... Styles... well initial concept always dance as though I have undertaken a "path" very classical / orchestral which led me to devote myself to the composition of short soundtracks.

What news can you reveal for us about your future productions?
There are several things planned.. Remixes, covers and unreleased songs .. new remixes will be available soon;)
Thank you for IDP and IDN support Wink!!!!!
